RESEARCH, CONCEPTUAL AND ELECTRONIC DEVELOPMENT
Discovering a Sonic Body’ reimagines listening through bodily sounds, using medical auscultation to explore body-space relationships creatively. Participants engaged with biomechanics and unconventional spaces, recording internal sounds for artistic manipulation. The project concluded with public presentations at Bogotá's Planetarium.
SOMATOSONICA is an art installation developed from an exploration of vibration as a transmitter of information, not only as a sonic outcome but also as a visual experience. Inspired by the biological function of sound, three core concepts emerge to explain why life listens: language, perception, and coexistence. This installation fosters an interactive experience with elements that engage the senses and encourage interaction among participants to create spontaneous sound and visual compositions in situ. The essential functions of perception, communication, and coexistence underscore the importance of vibrations in sound form for living beings, as being "sonic bodies" enables understanding, connection, and sharing. In collaboration with: Juliana Beltrán (sound artist and psychologist), Megumi Cardona (visual artist), Laura Orozco (performing artist), and Lilian Barrera (color psychologist).
