BIOLOGY, APPLIED BIOMECHANICS & BIOMIMICRY RESEARCH
Biology Thesis. This study seeks to broaden and deepen the discovery of the biological strategies present in different groups of organisms in the Colombian Caribbean region, whose application may be useful for the creation of new tools, objects, materials and elements that can be executed in projects related to compliance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These findings were made through the use of biomimicry methodologies to achieve the biological function, mechanisms and strategies, together with the Emulation Level approach, the Life Principles and the Abstract Design Principle of each of the species. This information was consolidated in a biomimicry catalog for 15 species selected from the preliminary identification of 130 potential functions and strategies of 116 organisms from the Colombian Caribbean region.
